Competitions

An active team of three current students is required to compete in local tournaments. Through tournament participation, students learn valuable lessons about competitive games, teamwork, and building/maneuvering a working robot.

First Tech Challenge League

West High School, and all Sioux City High Schools, are part of the First Tech Challenge League. The purpose of the league is to build confidence in students while working in teams. The FIRST Tech Challenge helps students learn to think like engineers. Through the league, students will design, build, and program their robots to meet the season.  The students enjoy the team spirit, collaboration, and interaction with other teams from throughout the tristate area.
