West High School -

West High School is proud to offer cheerleading. The Iowa Cheerleading Coaches’ Association sanctions cheer competitions and events throughout the state of Iowa. Through involvement in athletics, students learn valuable life skills, including teamwork, leadership, and commitment.   

• Support our school by cheering at football and basketball games; 

• Support our community by hosting cheer camps for children; 

• Promote healthy competition by competing at cheer competitions; and 

• Promote a team environment through team-building activities and positive communication. 

Each year West High students are welcome to try out for the cheer team. Tryouts are held during the spring for the following school year.

Student-athletes give their all, both on and off the court, field, and stage. Countless hours go into strength, conditioning, and practice to build strong athletes that are prepared to compete. Likewise, our athletes fulfill academic requirements in order to participate in sports.
